bridge the huge gaps between the modern day Christian beliefs and the ancient earth religions, it's knowledge of the community once known as the Essenes. Who were they?
Some (including myself), believe they were the first 'Christians'... and
that Jesus himself was an Essene.
Historical descriptions of
the Essene way of life are virtually identical to those describing the early Church community
in the New Testament. At the same time, many of
the Essene teachings
parallel those from various nature-based paths. This is most likely why
some still claim there was no connection between the
Essenes and early Christians!
